Trump, Outspoken Senator Graham Meet at White House

U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, one of the Senate’s most vocal critics of presidential action involving the firing of FBI Director James Comey, is meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House.

Graham, a Republican member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, told Fox News Friday that he worries Comey’s scheduled testimony before the committee next week will turn into what he called a “hit job” on President Trump.

“Here’s what I worry about,” Graham said in his televised comments. “[Comey] will just focus on his conversation with the president and not answer any other questions because of the investigation. That would be a hit job on President Trump and I hope this hearing doesn’t become a hit job on President Trump.”

Comey’s testimony is scheduled for Thursday, June 8.

Later Friday, the president is scheduled to sign into law a pair of police-related bills, including one that encourages law enforcement agencies to hire veterans, according to the Washington Examiner newspaper.
